Second shower?

I'm having a second child and was wondering what you all thought about having a second shower? I have read that some people do and say every child should be showered. I've also read that people say showers cost a lot and its not fair to people you invite. I have also heard of diaper parties instead. I have no clue what to do. I kinda feel weird about having another shower after reading what people said. What do you all think on the topic?
