FTM- laundry questions?

Hi all!

I am a first time mom preparing for our little girl to be here in August. We are going to be finished with baby showers in a couple week so I've started thinking about laundry.. Do you have a brand of detergent/dryer sheet you recommend? (We have a high efficiency washer and dryer.) Also, do you separate their clothes by colors when washing? What's the best dryer setting? Sorry if these seem silly, I have never been too confident with the washer and dryer (lol) and I do not want to take a chance of goofing up her clothes before she has a chance to do so herself!
