Dr. on vacation often?

So, in the effort to make appointments regularly, we've been off placed multiple times because our Dr is often taking week-two week vacations. I'm sure it's nice for his family, but my family is a little nervous.

Is anyone else worried that their doctor might not be available when they go into labor? What happens in that case? Is this something that happens often - different doctors deliver than do pre-natal care?
