dad-to-be not connecting

So dads, my husband is spooked.  He refuses to try and feel the baby move, he asks me regularly why I would want to do this to my body, and he adamantly refuses to be in the room when I give birth.  Getting pregnant was a decision we made together, but now that it is getting more real he is getting really freaked out.  What can I do to calm him down and help him come to terms with the situation?
