Baby Shower Time

When do you guys think it's the best time to have a baby shower? I'm seven months and I'm already feeling uncomfortable, and I would love to be done with all the shopping for the stuff that I'll need for the baby, but I keep hearing that the best time would be only a few weeks away from your due date, doesn't that only make harder on you? I mean I'm probably gonna be miserable at that time and I'll still have to finish the shop only after I get all the gifts to see what I still need to buy and what I need to exchange. So what do you guys suggest???
