2nd time gender disappoinment?

We found out today that we are having another little girl.

I grew up in a family with LOTS of girls, and I've always wanted a little boy. When we found out DD was a girl, I was a little disappointed, but I got over it pretty quickly and we love our daughter. BUT, I thought the whole time "hopefully the next baby will be a boy".

Well, it isn't. We are planning on having a 3rd later on, but I can't drag myself out of this funk today.

The poor u/s tech kept trying to cheer me up, pointing out that the baby was smiling and looked perfect and I am grateful for all of that, but I kind of wanted to say "look-- I'll be happy next week, give me a little time to process here".

Have any other BTDT moms had bigger gender disappointment the second time around? I'm kind of surprised that it's worse this time and wondering if that's what other people have felt?
