Need for a larger Apartment?

Hi ladies, This is my first post and wanted your thoughts on 1 bedroom vs 2 bedroom apartment.  My husband and I are moving and debating on which would be best.  The cost difference is about $300-400 for a larger place.  While We like the idea of setting up a nursery we also want to be financially prudent as we are working towards saving for a down payment on a home of our own.  I was wondering if the extra space is more a need or want? I can justify both sides in my mind like when baby cries I can be in nursery while you sleep at night, resting for work the next day and having more personal space vs.  the money saved. Thoughts??
