iron supplement

i bought an iron supplement over the counter today coz i am feeling extremely weak, and easily tired, i feel like im gna faint sometimes. i know dr's dont prescribe iron supplement by around 20 week. it also says on the supplement that should ask a dr id pregnant. should i wait until dr's appt until i take the supplement? or i could take it now?
