Band all loose gross on maternity jeans

I bought a pair of jeans on eBay that had a full panel belly. They were comfy at first but keep falling down like crazy. I'm 15 weeks but look more like 1820. Should I wait until I may fill out the panel more to wear them? Has anyone altered the band to make it tighter? I'm considering having my seamstress either take it in, it's pretty drastic, or having her make it one of those half panel kind or the ones with the thick band that is only 4 inches wide.
