On the edge of giving up.

I have a 2 month old son, and from the beginning we couldn't get a good latch. Yesterday we went to talk to a lactation consultant and we worked on his latch. But ever since I got home tried to do the things the lady told me to try he won't do it! He will cry and cry and cry and won't even latch on anymore and when he does its shallow and beyond painful. It's got so bad to where I don't even want to breastfeed anymore. He seems to prefer bottles over breast now. I'm away from 8 hours a day and when I get home is the only time I get to breast feed. And now he doesn't even seem to want that anymore. I don't know what to do anymore. I feel selfish and awful if I let him cry just because it hurts me. I just feel like quitting.
