When will my supply regulate??

How long does it take for milk supply to regulate? My DD is 6 days old and my milk came in 3 days ago, but I am in so much pain still! I feel like I'm always full - not truly engorged, but uncomfortably full. I'm feeding DD on demand and letting her go as long as she wants. Is it just a matter of time?
