Thoughts on a shower for 2nd baby?

I wanted to get some thoughts on having a baby shower for a second child. Our son was born in November 2010 and we thought we were one and done. We sold/gave away most of the stuff he had grown out of; car seat, stroller, baby monitor, swing, and clothes. I am really hoping for a girl this time and my girlfriend offered to throw me a shower. However, my SIL made the comment "you're not having another shower are you?". If my bestfriend of 8 years offers what am I going to say, no?
