NBR: Anyone familiar with Flex-Spending Accounts?

Hey ladies. I'm curious, and I haven't yet been able to find the answer in my official documents.

I got a flex spending account for the first time this year. They sent me a card that I can use, instead of having to submit claim forms. I just have to keep the receipts in case I'm asked for them.

Here's my question, though. Can I use the account before all the money is deposited? For example, I got the account in case there were any deductibles or other baby-related stuff, but also because my hubs needs some dental work. Do I need to wait until enough money is deposited in the account to cover his dental work, or can we charge against it now and "pay it back" in the future?
