pubic symphysis dysfunction?

So I made a trip to L&D this morning. I've had severe and constant pain in my pubic area for the past week or so and it got so bad last night that I couldn't sleep. My OB says I have this disorder where my pubic bones are basically loosening and separating. It's so painful! I can't imagine having to deal with this for another 3 months. I'm also concerned about work- It's getting very difficult to walk. I have to start physical therapy and wear a pelvic cradle (sexy), but here's really not much I can do to avoid the pain. 

Has anyone had experience with this?
