PLEASE help with my 13-month boobie boy- he won't quit!

DS has been down to one feed starting at 12 months- unfortunately, when he wakes up in the am, he cries hysterically until I will nurse him. I offer and encourage WCM in a sippy instead, and he will just cry and scream, pulling at my shirt. If somehow, I get through the first hour without a nursing (rare), he is still incredibly moody and fussy and continues to pull at my shirt throughout the morning. Are there any BTDT moms here that have any tips ? I am SO done nursing- it was incredibly rewarding for the first year, but I've always planned on 12 months and can't believe I'm still at the same point as I was a month ago help.
