BFing and C-Section

LO is 9 months old now.  I had an emergency c-section and he was in the NICU for 2 days.  I BF him as soon as I could (first time when he was 9 hours old) and then every 2-3 hours.  My milk didn't "come in" until day 5 PP.  They were monitoring his blood sugar levels in NICU and told me they were dropping and I either had to supplement or they were going to start another IV.  I opted to supplement with formula.  I would BF him 25mintues each side, then DH would finger feed him with the lacation aid while I pumped with the double electric for 20minutes (after each feed).  I did this until my milk "came in" and then I started EBFing (and still going at 9 months ). 

I'm thinking about baby #2 and if I have another c-section.  I don't want to supplement this time around.  But will my baby be ok with only colustrum for 5 days (if it takes that long again)?  I'm hoping baby #2 won't end up in NICU so they won't be monitoring his/her blood sugar levels.
