Question for STMs who were completely unprepared for natural childbirth

I have one friend who said all she did was breathe a certain way during her natural birth, and everything was fine, and she didn't need her child birth class. I also have a friend who said classes are the imperative, and you can never do enough stretches, etc.

How horrible is it to have natural child birth and to not have had child birthing classes, or to not have done all your stretches like a good little girl?
