Dry Eyes!

Could breastfeeding be causing my dry eyes? I've always worn contacts but never had dry eye until now. They hurt and burn all the time! The eye doc gave me steroid eye drops and a gel lubricating drop but I have to take my contacts out for 15 mins each time so I know I'm not doing it as often as I need but even when I do use the drops they still hurt when I put my contacts in ugh! Anyone else have this issue? Will that eye drop that helps make tears help and is it safe while breastfeeding? My eye doc seemed clueless about breastfeeding:
