told to pump n' dump because of mastitis?

Hello all,

I developed Mastitis and was prescribed Bacrim. I was told by my OB, the one who prescribed the medication, to pump and dump. I question it. What did the nurse tell me? He didn't want me to P&D due to the medication, but because of the infection. I can't find anything to support this. What have you encountered? (hopefully you haven't!)
