Alright, ladies...I'm going to start buckling down and counting calories soon. When I counted calories before at my current weight, I would lose at 1800 calories per day. I was going to make sure I ate 2,300 calories because that would be the extra 500 needed for breastfeeding.
However, if I am exercising (say I walk 3 miles and burn approximately 300 calories), then I'm really only eating 1500 calories a day in the grand scheme of things because of the 500 for breastfeeding and the 300 for walking. Should I eat above the 2300 calories to account for exercise? I used to be a calorie counting pro and the whole breastfeeding thing has thrown me for a loop because I don't want to lose any of my supply.
