First transvaginal US... HELP!

I just got back from my first appointment with my dr. Here's the deal:

Date of my last period was 09.29.12, which should make me 7 weeks and 3 days today. Dr. took a look and found no baby, just the sac, stated it's VERY early on (maybe 5 weeks). I asked how could that be? She said I may have ovulated late, or could be my hcg levels. They took blood but I'm going back in 2 days for some more blood work to see where I stand. I know it's very early to even worry, but I am. I am aware that if my hormones are low and don't improve, the fetus may not have grown because I'm miscarrying. This is my first pregnancy & this is just too much for me to swallow right now. Is there anyone out there going through something similar? I could use all the support and prayers out there...
