S/O Christmas cards

I am hoping to have a little photo session, mostly with DS but I want a few family shots. I just found a Groupon for a $40 hour on location shoot but I was also thinking about going to JC Penney (You can get a free family shot the month of Nov and I was going to pay for some prints of DS).

Would you rather do an on location possibly outdoor shoot or do you prefer a studio session? DH was no help, he couldn't care less. It may be chilly if we did something outdoors but it wouldn't be that bad.
