Breastfeeding is going really well for us so far, but I can't seem to work this out. My baby will drink until she chokes - it's like it's going down the 'wrong pipe' and it's just so sad and pitiful because it distresses her so much.
I've tried pulling her off once I know I've let down (i.e. I can tell she's swallowing milk), and then doing that again after about 10 swallows, I've tried expressing some milk when I let down, but still she just somehow manages to choke every time she feeds. I hate seeing her so distressed, I'm worried she's going to start refusing my breast because it stresses her out - I would really appreciate any and all ideas on other things to try if you've got them.
