Oversupply Issue?

I have started nursing my DS on only one side at a time after determining that I have an oversupply issue and he was getting way too much Foremilk because he wasn't emptying both breasts. He is extremely gassy, symptoms of reflux, crying all the time like he is in pain. If the foremilk is his issue when should I see a change in his gassiness and tummy discomfort?
