More diaper etiquette

So I get that the general opinion on the bump is that diaper raffles/other ways to get people to give you diapers at your shower are tacky. I went to a shower a few months ago where, while the girls were doing our thing, the guys were having a beer and sports party (at another location) where the guests were expected to bring a package of diapers for the FTB. What is your opinion on this? Does this fall under the diaper raffle category or is it acceptable? Just wondering
