Help! Dr. Told me to stop breastfeeding!

At my DD's 1 year check up the dr told us that she hadn't gained any weight since her 9 month check up. Her height and increased only 1 inch. He asked if I was still breastfeeding and when I said yes, he told me that was the reason. She is filling up on breast milk and not eatting enough food with enough calories. He told me to stop and come back in 6 weeks to see how things are going. I was in shock and therefore didn't really put up a fight. Right now I bf her when she wakes up, around 3 pm and when she goes to bed. She eats a solid meal around 10,12, and 6, but she is so fussy that she rarely eats much. It has been 2 weeks and I haven't stopped but I just weighed her at home and I think she lost a pound. Dr also told me that she doesn't eat much because she is full on breast milk and doesn't want to eat because of it. Any suggestions? Has anyone experienced this? Sorry for the long post!
