For my soulcysters, metformin/PCOS question

Hi Ladies,

My doctor told me to continue to take 1000 mg of metformin per day like I was doing while we were TTC.  However, I find that the medication causes severe cramping now, more than what it used to.  I mean, I've always had cramping and diarrhea, but it always went away after taking the medication for a few weeks.  But now, combined with the pregnancy cramping, its becoming unbearable.  

 For my soulcysters, are any of you experiencing this?  If you have, does it get better?  Yesterday I didn't take the metformin and my cramping was normal and much less painful.  Were you all told to continue taking the metformin too?
