how to deal with out-of-control SO parents?

so today my SO told his parents that we are expecting. (i'm not going to lie we knew it would shock people because we are both only 21 and have been together for a short amount of time, ect)

his mom FREAKED out and told him he had to get a DNA test or she would make his life hell, that this will tear us apart and make me resent him and make him miserable, and that it would be immature of us not to give the baby away.my parents didn't react favorably but they were at least supportive and respectful despite their disappointment.

any advice from anyone who has been here before? we're trying to stay positive but we are both family-oriented and hoped for more support than this.
