An ultra sound, a graduation and first appointment with OB

I went in for my first ultra sound today and all is well the little one is cooking away with a heart beat of 126. And with that my RE has released me to my OB! I was a little surprised I don't have to go back but I will take this as a sign he's confident in what he sees. I made my first appointment with my OBs office for next Thursday. It's with one of the nurses and I'll have an ultra sound first. (yay for only having to go a week in between ultra sounds!) Which brings me to a question for you ladies: can someone enlighten me on what the initial appointment is all about and how long after it until I seems OB? Tia!
