Missing work, what do i say??

I'm 7 weeks and have been really sick with m/s the last week or so. Missed 3 days of work last week and was completely confined to bed....this week I've managed to work half days but my productivity has really dropped. Anyone else been missing work? How did you deal with this with your boss and coworkers? I'm not eager to tell anyone since I haven't even seen my dr yet, but I'm afraid of looking like a slacker!
