Overcoming breast aversion?

We had a great breastfeeding relationship for the first month and a half but it has slowly deteriorated due (I believe) to acid reflux. We are now treating the reflux but DS is a mess at the breast. I have to strong arm him on and then he sucks a bit and starts crying. I have to use a pacifier to calm him down enough to contemplate latching back on. This extreme reluctance to nursing has been going in for about a week and my LC now thinks I should accept this likely won't turn around and I should consider EP'ing. I'm really not ready to give up and loathe the idea of EP'ing, but this is making the entire family miserable. I also have a 4yo and no child care for the next two weeks so I can't exactly take a nursing vacation. yDS' weight gain was slow this past month too so I'm worried about battling wills with him and waiting him out. Please help I am so sad .
