Can I use bottles & pumping accessories from a friend if I sterilize?

I know, I know... you're not supposed to. But if I wash and sterilize well, do you really think it's a no no? My friend gave me tons of dr browns bottles and pumping accessories (breast shields, etc). They haven't been used in months, and I plan to fully sterilize. Is there any real risk here?
