Need advice-weaning and clogged ducts

I EP and have always had an oversupply. I'm weaning but doing it very slowly (I take the pumping session I want to get rid of and decrease the time I pump by a minute or so each day before I ditch that session completely).

I'm still getting clogged ducts here and there. When this happens I set myself back because I feel like I need to empty the affected breast completely when this happens until I unclog it, therefore increasing my supply back up.

Do you think I have to continue this way or is it ok to keep some milk in the affected side and continue the weaning process?
