Not willing/bad latch... How long until success?

I guess I just need some encouragement.  DD just doesn't want to latch and when  she does she chews and then twists her head away.  My LC has me on a Nursing vacation, I'm supposed to be practicing twilight latches and just trying to nurse often.  It's not really working, I've had a handful of good latches in 2 days and she stays on for 5-10 secs max.  Now my nipples are sore again and I'm contemplating going back to EP.   If you had issues getting your LO to latch (and stay latched), how until you succeeded and what worked for you?
