Is painting safe during pregnancy?

We just bought a new home and theres alot of painting to do. I really want to help my hubby and speed up the process but Im 32weeks and heard that its not safe. My sister in law came over today and said its fine to paint and that I was just "being lazy." She said since it is Behr paint, it is ok to be around. I thought it was unsafe?????
