More efficient nurses?

When did you notice your LO becoming a more efficient nurser? In the past couple days, LO has significantly dropped the amount of minutes he is nursing. During the day I'm still feeling him every 2.5 to 3 hours and at night he goes for a 4.5 hour and then a 4 hour stretch between feedings. His wet and poopy diapers are plentiful and he is gaining weight, so I know he is getting enough.
