Painful Varicose Veins

May 2012 in 3rd Trimester

I am only 27 weeks, but I already have a painful varicose vein on the back of one of my legs. I am a teacher and on my feet all day, which definitely does not help. Luckily I will be on summer vacation for the last 8 weeks of this pregnancy, and will be able to stay off my feet a little more. Does anyone have any tips to relieve the pain? Also, do they usually go away after pregnancy, or will I need to get them zapped? I did not experience this during my first pregnancy. TIA!
