Breech baby question

At my ultrasound yesterday, I discovered that LO is now breech; a month ago, it was not.  Given that I'm nearly 34 weeks along, space is getting limited in there and the doctor indicated that the likelihood of the baby naturally flipping is decreasing.  I'm curious to hear if there are moms who have had a baby flip later in pregnancy naturally; as well as moms whose baby did not flip and c-section was necessary.

Any moms who had the baby flipped manually?  I've read it can be very painful, so I'd love to hear about those experiences.
