Swelling question for 2nd time moms

Ok, so I have what I consider some pretty severe swelling (doc isn't really worried about it since it didn't come on fast and has jsut increased over the past 2 months).

Anyway it is severe to me and I was just wondering how long did it take for the swelling to go down after giving birth.

I am just so miserable and feel like a water balloon about to burst...it doesn't really matter what I do the swelling doesn't really go down...I am elevating my feet when I can, drowning myself in water, trying to avoid sodium whenever possible, etc. If it was just my feet I think I would be ok, but it is everywhere (face, neck, hands, arms, legs (thighs to toes), even my lady bits seem swollen).

Just looking for a light at the end of my tunnel...also if you have had a c/s vs a vaginal birth did that affect when your swelling went down?
