Baby Shower Drama Vent

"I'm doing you a favor and I didn't realize it was going to be so much trouble." - MIL.

My MIL is throwing my baby shower and as you can tell by that statement I am far from thrilled. It has been stated that she is happy to be doing it but I don't know....

 Our families live an hour apart, so my DH said to find a place in the middle. Well, of course she didn't. She is planning the shower five minutes from her house. Which mean some of my family members have to drive over an hour, I have to drive 40 minutes and even her family members are driving a minimum of 30 min. 

The entire experience so far has been stressful, dramatic, filled with tears and anger. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this?
