Evening Primrose Oil-30 weeks

Hi everyone! This is my first pregnancy and I went to see my midwife this week and she told me to start taking epo orally asap because it takes weeks for your body to react to it. I know it doesn't induce labor, it just softens your cervix and my mw said she wants to make sure that my cervix will be ready for delivery. Doing my research online webmd and other boards are saying to not take it before 34-36 weeks. I'm so confused and can't decide if I should start taking it this early or wait for at least a few more weeks.

Those that have taken it when did you start and what did your ob or mw tell you?
