When to have the L&D talk with your OB

Due to a change in insurance, I'm with a new OB this time. And, being my second pregnancy, I get a lot of "I'm sure you remember this" instead of the sit-down-conversations that my old OB would have with me. I'm having some complications with this pregnancy, and I've come to not trust my OB which makes the approaching L&D experience scary. I want to be clear about my expectations of laboring before I'm screaming from a bed for an epi. So when do you talk to your OB about their policies for L&D (induction dates, how long before c/s after water breaks)? I'm actually so uncomfortable with him, I'm afraid to ask or tell him what my expectations are. We butt heads constantly.
