Menstration and Breastfeeding

I've been breastfeeding my baby since he was born, and now he's reaching his first birthday and I still haven't started my menstrual cycle yet. I read that some women get their menstrual cycle after their baby stops breastfeeding completely, and people are saying that I'm pregnant because I haven't gotten my period yet. I know that's not a possibility because protection has been used everytime. I'm starting to wean my son off of breastmilk, could that, maybe, help with me get my cycle back on track?
