Best cars for kids and carseats?

So we're looking to trade in our Camry Hybrid because my husband just doesn't like it much anymore and the trunk space is pretty lacking if you want to easily shove in a stroller or other larger things.

What  vehicles do you have that you find to be the simplest, most roomy and best for kids? I'm trying to come up with vehicles that have good deep back seats that are still good for carseats and older passengers, good trunk space, safe, and with enough clearance above ground to deal with going to random hiking parking lots etc. We're currently looking at the Subaru Outback, Honda CRV kinda things, but anything even like a hatchback, or smaller SUV is ok, just no big crazy vehicles.

What do you ladies recommend?
