Cervix thinning?

Have any of you noticed any pain or extra pressure when your cervix started to thin?  I've been having occasional sharp pain about the area my cervix is and I've been noticing a lot more pressure.  It's not super painful, but it's enough to occasionally make me bend forward.  My mom has even noticed that I've started standing with my legs crossed when I feel LO pushing down.  I'm just curious if this is normal.  TIA
