Strep B swab? (Anyone who has already done this)

At my appointment yesterday the Dr. told me that either the next appointment (2weeks) or the one after that I will be doing the Strep B swab...he explained it as being optional but then went into detail about why they do it and why he recommends it. Which is great.

Anyway, I was just wondering how they do this...he explained about the "giant Q-tip" and I had to do a vaginal swab at a previous appointment where they just handed me the swab and sent me off to the bathroom to swoosh it around and told me to stick it back in the container and give it back when I was done.

Is the strep B the same or do they have someone actually do the swabbing for you? Is it uncomfortable at all?
