Can I go back to work now??

Last Tuesday, I was 2.5 cm dilated.  Last Friday, I lost my cervical plug.  Sketchy, irregular contractions over the last few days and my ob wants to see me today.  Meanwhile, my boss is treating me like a ticking timebomb and wants me to remain out of the office until I get clearance from my ob.  All that I can think about is the # of work hours that are getting pulled from my Leave of Absence account right now.  It would be worth it if my ob tells me that I'm 6 cm dilated and I'm suddenly in active labor (which I'm not), but I'm just cleaning the house and thinking about my lost hours. 

I hate the waiting game---gimme a baby, or let me go back to work and make some money!
