Cramping with low lying placenta

I was told a week and a half ago that I have a low lying placenta.  They said that most likely it will move up on it's own and when I called my dr to make sure I shouldn't be concerned, the dr said only if I started bleeding.  So, I haven't thought much about it, but am having some cramping.  I know I can call my dr if it continues, and I will, but I wanted to see if any of you have had experience with this or any information.  I can't find much on the internet and my previous pregnancies didn't have these issues.  Thanks so much!
