Question About Doppler u/s

We will have our 16 wk appt next Wednesday. Last time, our Dr. said they will do the doppler u/s to check the baby's blood flow. Can they determine the sex of the baby with the doppler? I know they will do another regular u/s at the 20 wk for the anatomy scan, but I was just curious if they could tell the sex with the doppler? Is it a visual u/s as well as audible? TIA
