Could this be.....?

I am well into my 38th week and I have never had a contraction, not even a BH. I am currently experiencing what feels like strong period cramps in my low in my belly, exactly where my uterus typically is. It's an uncomfortable feeling, but not painful. The cramps (for lack of better word) don't end when I get up and walk or lay down. Could this be the beginnings of contractions or BH? As a FTM I am constantly looking for signs of labor and I don't want to over read or under read into anything. I know not to contact MD until things really hurt more often or my water breaks, but I thought I'd asked what you guys thought. Thanks for the advice!
